We each conceal varying degrees of unhappiness, whether it's significant or trivial. We carry it with us in our thoughts to the office, put them temporarily under our pillow when we go to bed, or tuck them under the mat when we are surrounded by others.
We often remain helpless, denying and ruminating over them alone. However, burying our unhappiness is not the solution. Achieving well-being requires effort, will, and wisdom. It takes time, practice, and often external support to transform and become aware of your unhappiness.
Individual psychotherapy does not aim to convince you that your unhappiness is not so bad or that you will get over it. Instead, it helps you uncover the unhappiness piece by piece in the next difficult situation you face so that you can reshape it.
It does not guarantee an end to unhappiness, but it enables you to consistently consider other options.
