Societal development projects

A thriving society is one where its members lead lives of decency and dignity, with access to quality services for both their physical and mental well-being. Unfortunately, psychotherapy is often viewed as a luxury rather than a necessity, and this perception needs to evolve gradually.

This is why I'm driven to engage with the community. I want to support individuals in their pursuit of a fulfilling life. Social involvement demands a diverse skill set: emotional intelligence, project management expertise, practical knowledge, and a network of supportive individuals.

Over time, I've cultivated these skills through a variety of projects, primarily through meaningful interactions with people—be it in corporate settings, NGOs, innovative startups, or public institutions. Through these experiences, I've continuously learned and honed my abilities in conceptualizing ideas, coordinating projects, and facilitating groups, workshops, or training sessions on various topics.

I firmly believe that those who possess resources and influence bear a responsibility for driving social change, rather than leaving it solely to those already facing challenges.

Projects I have been involved in:

I have consistently learned and perfected the processes through which I create concepts, coordinate projects, and facilitate groups, workshops, or training sessions on specific topics.

I believe that social engagement and the responsibility to produce change lie with those who already have resources and power, not with those who are already in challenging situations.
  • THE INNER THEATRE

The Inner Theatre project is tailored for adolescents aged 14 to 18, with a focus on equipping them with the emotional intelligence needed for adulthood.

This initiative involves a series of performance art workshops, where participants explore the unique challenges of their age group. It culminates in the creation and performance of a dance-theatre piece on the stages of three theaters in Bucharest, aiming to shed light on the inner worlds of adolescents.

Combining therapeutic and artistic workshops, along with the guidance of an experienced artistic team, this project serves as a valuable addition to the school curriculum, aiding young individuals in their journey of self-discovery.

Our goal is to offer therapeutic support during this vulnerable and often overlooked stage of development. Additionally, we aim to demonstrate that art can serve as a powerful tool for education, fostering solidarity, and proposing solutions to contemporary social issues.

The Inner Theatre project is the winner of a national competition for cultural projects funded by the National Cultural Fund Association.
  • CHECKMATE

The project caters to individuals interested in exploring the world of chess and reaping its benefits while nurturing their competitive spirit within a framework of fair play.

Chess is primarily a mental sport, offering numerous advantages that counteract the negative effects of our increasingly digitalized society. It serves as a means to regulate emotions, enhance memory, bolster concentration under pressure, sharpen cognitive abilities, hone strategic thinking, and sustain long-term focus.

Our activities include a chess introduction course for beginners and a practice course for those already familiar with the fundamentals. We've also developed a Tips and Tricks course, where participants can learn strategies to navigate complex situations and engage in competition sessions with opportunities to win prizes.

Moreover, to inspire participants, we host film evenings featuring prominent figures in the world of chess, showcasing how it serves as an inclusive mind sport that transcends barriers of language, finance, ideology, and more.

The CHECKMATE Project is run by the Institute for Social Resilience.
  • Teen Spirit

The Teen Spirit project is dedicated to covering crucial life skills often overlooked in traditional education. It delves into areas such as emotional management, creative expression for crafting personal narratives, and mindfulness in physical presence. Additionally, the project emphasizes critical thinking, objective reality assessment, and maintaining composure during challenging situations.

Tailored for individuals up to the age of 35, our project offers comprehensive courses in psycho-emotional education, first aid, creative writing, mindfulness, critical thinking, and civic education. Each course is designed to foster a sense of humanity, promote self-awareness, and encourage acceptance of others.

With a team boasting over a decade of experience in our respective fields, we are committed to empowering young individuals to navigate life with confidence and resilience. We firmly believe that these workshops can equip youth with the necessary tools to embark on their life journey or make a fresh start, ultimately contributing to a more responsible and cohesive future for society.

The Teen Spirit project is administered by the Institute for Social Resilience Association, the NGO I am honored to represent.

Possible Projects

  • CHRYSALISES FOR PEOPLE

Crafted to cater to individuals with psychiatric diagnoses, the Chrysalises for People initiative seeks to dismantle barriers between patients and society. Our mission is twofold: to foster an informed and compassionate dialogue surrounding mental illness and to establish a therapeutic art model with direct interventions for inpatient recovery.

Through our efforts, we aim to foster social inclusion for those with mental disorders, promote diversity and tolerance, showcase positive narratives of recovery, and challenge societal perceptions of this often marginalized group.

Utilizing the transformative power of art, we guide patients in redefining the meaning and direction of their lives by offering continuous access to artistic forms such as painting, writing, and dance.

Patient narratives are translated into participatory art pieces through therapeutic workshops focusing on autobiographical writing, contemporary dance, and visual arts. These creations are then shared with the public through various mediums including video episodes, testimonials, photographs, and firsthand accounts. This approach allows us to gain valuable insights into the stigma surrounding recovery.

This project is a collaborative effort involving partnerships with the Predeal Neurosis Hospital, the Căpâlnaș Psychiatric Hospital, and the Voila Psychiatric Hospital. Together, we strive to empower individuals on their journey toward recovery and societal reintegration.
  • (A)typical Life

Built upon insights gleaned from the admission records of children who have attempted suicide—chiefly citing family conflicts as a key factor—the (A)typical Life project focuses on post-discharge psychotherapy and social reintegration for vulnerable youth. We prioritize systemic family therapy and individual counseling to help survivors regulate emotions, manage anger, and establish healthy boundaries within their family dynamics. We also offer couples therapy for parents to address underlying issues contributing to suicidal tendencies.

Geared towards individuals under 18, who often lack adequate mental health resources, our project aims to provide essential psychotherapeutic support and facilitate the social reintegration of at-risk youth. Our goals include educating young individuals on common psychological processes, improving child-parent relationships, and empowering them to lead lives aligned with their preferences.

The "(A)typical Life" initiative is a collaboration with the Toxicology - Intensive Care Unit of the "Grigore Alexandrescu" Children's Emergency Hospital, highlighting our commitment to comprehensive care for vulnerable youth.
  • IN THE MINDS OF BABES

In an era increasingly dominated by technology, video games, often characterized by individualistic and violent themes, have become a predominant pastime for children. This trend risks disconnecting them from the realities of their surroundings and may contribute to a decline in their social and physical aptitudes.

With our initiative, "In the Minds of Babes," we seek to champion and preserve the intangible cultural heritage embodied in traditional childhood games. By offering an alternative form of entertainment rooted in the tangible world, we aim to counterbalance the influence of digital media. Collaborating with psychologists, anthropologists, and a team of artists, we endeavor to explore the impact of childhood games on individuals and their role in personal development.

Our mission involves documenting and revitalizing childhood games of cultural and social significance through the creation of interactive, immersive installations. Through the establishment of a dynamic, mobile museum of play, accessible across various urban spaces, we aim to reintroduce traditional games from past generations. These games, cherished by the "key-key generation," emphasize communal engagement, exploration, and curiosity.

We firmly believe that group play is paramount for holistic personal growth and has the potential to enhance children's social skills.

IN THE MINDS OF BABES is the winner of a national competition for cultural projects funded by the National Cultural Fund Association.
